Tier Reference & Pay Equivalence

Technical allowance aligned to equivalent rank pay

What this means for you: Your technical skill level determines an allowance tier. Each tier is benchmarked to the pay of the equivalent JCF rank — so a Constable with Tier 5 skills receives allowances equivalent to Inspector-level pay for their technical function. Your substantive rank does not change — your compensation reflects your technical value.

Tier 5 Master / Instructor 27.37–34.2 ×3.0 ≃ Inspector pay

Tier 4 Specialist 20.53–27.36 ×2.25 ≃ Inspector pay

Tier 3 Expert 13.69–20.52 ×1.75 ≃ Sergeant pay

Tier 2 Proficiency 6.85–13.68 ×1.35 ≃ Sergeant pay

Tier 1 Foundation 0–6.84 ×1.0 ≃ Corporal pay

≃ = equivalent pay benchmark only. Your substantive rank is unaffected. Tiers reviewed annually. Gaining new certifications can move you to a higher tier.

TCI Score ?Technical Competency Index — a number from 0 to 34.2 that summarises all your competency scores, certifications, and bonuses into one figure. The higher the score, the higher your tier.

Tier ?Your tier (1–5) is assigned automatically from your TCI score. Tier 4 & 5 = Inspector-level pay. Tier 2 & 3 = Sergeant-level pay. Tier 1 = Corporal-level pay.

Allowance Mult. ?Your technical allowance is calculated by multiplying the base technical rate by this number. For example, ×2.25 means you receive 2.25 times the base rate.
