March 05, 2021 – Thirty-one-year-old Johnharley Lambert, a vendor of Bedward Gardens, Kingston 7, was shot and killed by two gunmen— one of who was shot dead by the Police in the same incident on Princess Street, downtown, Kingston on Thursday, March 4. One Taurus .38 revolver containing three .38 rounds of ammunition was seized during the incident.
The alleged deceased gunman has been identified as 25-year-old Romario Williams, a farmer of August Town Road, Kingston 7.
Reports from the Kingston Central Police are that about 3:35 p.m., Lambert was pounced upon by Williams and another man who shot him several times. A police team who were in close proximity responded to the shooting incident, when Williams and the other man fired shots at them. The police returned the gunfire and Williams was shot.
When the shooting subsided, a search of the area was conducted and Williams was seen lying with the firearm in his hand. Both Williams and Lambert were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The other gunman is currently being sought by the police.
The matter has been reported to The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
