April 20, 2021-The Clarendon Police are being commended for their collective efforts, which resulted in the apprehension of four robbers in Four Paths, Clarendon on Monday, April 19 shortly after the commission of a robbery in the parish.
Reports from the May Pen Police are that about 4:20 p.m., a team of officers on patrol along the Four Paths main road in the parish when they received a Police radio transmission about a robbery of a bar in progress. A vehicle fitting the description was observed and the driver was signalled to stop, however, the driver failed to comply.
With assistance from the Police Emergency Communication Centre, the patrol units pursued and the Toyota Corolla motorcar. It was intercepted on the Four Paths main road after it lost control and crashed into an embankment. The four robbers alighted from the vehicle and opened gunfire at the Police. The gunfire was returned and two of the suspects were subsequently found with gunshot wounds. The other two were apprehended shortly after.
The motor vehicle, which is believed to be stolen, along with a quantity of assorted liquor, several cellular phones and a sum of money were seized.
A comprehensive search of the vehicle revealed one .380 pistol and ten .380 rounds of ammunition.
