The man suspected of inflicting fatal chop wounds to 41-year-old Steve Daley, a farmer of Windsor district, St. Elizabeth is now in hospital under police guard after he allegedly attacked a member of the Police team who tried to arrest him.
Reports are that about 10:00 p.m., the man was allegedly involved in a dispute with Daley when he used a machete to chop him several times. Daley was assisted to the hospital by community members, who contacted the Police. The Police responded and the suspect was located in bushes, however, he reportedly pointed a firearm at the Police and was shot and injured.
A homemade handgun with one 12-gauge cartridge was seized in the incident.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is also investigating the incident.
