Head of the St. Catherine North Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Howard Chambers, is commending key stakeholders in his division for their support and partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) as it continues to bolster efforts to enhance safety and security across the parish.
The division, known for its proactive stance against crime, has seen a significant ramp-up in operational activities since the beginning of March, focusing on intensifying their presence and actions, particularly in hotspot areas. The approach underscores the entire division’s commitment to targeting areas most affected by criminal activities through a series of well-coordinated operations.
Speaking recently with the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), SSP Chambers highlighted the division’s strategic approach to combating crime, “Since the start of the month of March, the St. Catherine North Division has embarked on high-intensity operations across the entire division, focusing mainly on our hot spot areas including those areas in the Spanish Town environs and Linstead zone.”
The operations, designed to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks, include a wide range of activities such as Cordon and Search operations, Targeted Raids, and Vehicular Checkpoints. By leveraging every tool within their anti-gang toolbox, the division is set on maintaining public order, controlling hotspot areas, executing anti-gang initiatives, and engaging with the community.
SSP Chambers made a compelling call to action for continued public cooperation, “We’ll be doubling our efforts. We’ll be continuing with our range of operational activities… So we continue to ask citizens to continue to partner with the police. We are enjoying good partnership with our citizens as we seek to maintain our focus on the strategic intents of the division.”
The Senior Superintendent also took the opportunity to reassure the law-abiding citizens of St. Catherine North of the JCF’s dedication to their safety, stating, “We want to continue to assure the law-abiding citizens of St. Catherine North division that we will continue to be relentless in our pursuit as we seek to assure normalcy within the St. Catherine North division.” This assurance reflects the division’s resolve to create a safe and secure environment for all residents.
SSP Chambers’ expression of gratitude towards the community’s support emphasizes the importance of a collaborative effort in the fight against crime. The partnership between the police and the community is crucial in fostering a culture of safety and vigilance that benefits everyone within the parish.
As the St. Catherine North Division continues its surge of operational initiatives, SSP Chambers is seeking the continued cooperation and support of the citizens. The collective effort is pivotal in the ongoing journey towards a safer, more peaceful community, demonstrating the power of unity in creating a formidable front against criminal elements.
