The Clarendon Police seized one Browning 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing thirteen 9mm rounds of ammunition during an operation in York Town in the parish on Monday, December 23.

Reports from the May Pen Police are that at about 4:45 p.m., lawmen were on patrol in the area when two men were seen sitting under a tree along the roadway. Upon the approach of the police, the men started acting in a manner that aroused the suspicion of the lawmen. The men were accosted and searched, and the firearm was removed from a one-strap bag that one of the men was carrying.

Both men were taken into custody pending further investigations. Their identities are being withheld.
