Eighteen-year-old Alonzo Rhoden otherwise called ‘Little King’ a moulder of Fairview Avenue, Kingston has been charged with the Murder of 28-year-old Shavohn Guthrie otherwise called ‘Breddie’ of Marie drive, Kingston 11 on Sunday, August 25.
Rhoden has also been charged with Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Ammunition and Using a Prohibited Weapon to commit a Schedule Offence.
Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that at about 10:45 p.m., Guthrie was walking along the roadway when he was pounced upon by Rhoden armed with a handgun. Rhoden opened gunfire, hitting Guthrie multiple times. The police were alerted and on arrival, Guthrie was seen lying in a pool of blood, he was transported to hospital where his death was confirmed.
Lawmen carried out an investigation into the matter, and Rhoden was arrested and charged on Wednesday, September 18.
A court date for him is now being finalised.
