
48-HOUR CURFEWS IMPOSED IN SECTIONS OF THE HANOVER POLICING DIVISION
January 30, 2026 – A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Jericho and Elgin Town communities in the Hanover Policing Division. The curfews commenced at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 01.
The boundaries of the curfews are:
JERICHO
East – From Claremont Square running along an imaginary line to the back of Morris district.
South – From the back of Morris district, running along an imaginary line to the Georgia River.
West – From the Georgia River running along an imaginary line to the entrance of Georgia Road.
North – From the entrance of Georgia Road running along an imaginary line to Claremont Square.
ELGIN TOWN
North – From the entrance of the molasses plant in Elgin Town along an imaginary line to the back of Binns Lane.
South – From Kew Bridge along the Elgin Town back road to the Aston King Bridge along the Elgin Town main road.
East – From the back of Binns Lane along an imaginary line leading to the old Kew Bridge.
West – From the Aton King Bridge along the Elgin Town main road to the entrance of the Molasses Plant in Elgin Town.
During the hours of the curfew, persons within the boundaries of the curfew are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the person in charge of enforcing the curfew.
