Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Merrick Watson yesterday launched a weeklong series of workshops for his staff at the National Police College of Jamaica (NPCJ) as the College marked its 10th anniversary.
The opening session, moderated by Mrs Mona-Lisa Stewart, saw the more than 100 staff members at the College being addressed by Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, and chariman of the Police Civilian Oversight Authourity, Professor Anthony Harriott.
The National Police College of Jamaica delivers training for law enforcement agencies across the Caribbean, and caters to professionals at all levels of their career, from recruits to managing ranks. It also delivers specialist training, such as detective training, driver training and technical searching. As part of the support system for delivering station services to the public, the NPCJ also falls within the scope of the Force’s certification under the ISO 9001:2015 standard for quality management systems.
The College is observing its 10th anniversary under the theme, ‘Ten Years of Excellence and Resilience: Embracing Growth, Inspiring and Shaping Futures’
