Forty-seven-year-old Nigel Bailey, a tiler of Bickerseth district, St. James was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, Stockpiling and Possession of Identity Information following an incident on Top Mountain, Kitson Town, St Catherine on Thursday, January 04.
Reports are that about 2:15 a.m., a team of officers was conducting an operation in the area when Bailey was observed hiding a brown bag on a garbage heap. He was accosted, searched and the bag was retrieved and found to contain:
- One Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine affixed containing fifteen 9mm rounds;
- One clear bottle thirty-six .40 cartridges and three 9mm cartridges;
- One Samsung A12 cellular phone
He was subsequently arrested and charged in the presence of his lawyer.
His court date is being finalized.
