ST. THOMAS ‘ANTSMAN’ FACES GUN CHARGES

The St. Thomas Police have charged a citizen with Use of a Firearm to Commit Assault and Assault at Common Law following an incident on Acacia Road, Lyssons, St. Thomas on Saturday, July 27.

Charged is 42-year-old Lamar Beckford otherwise called ‘Antsman’ a labourer of Seaview drive, Lysson, St. Thomas.

Reports from the lawmen are that about 10:25p.m., ‘Antsman’ intervened in an altercation between two other men. One of the men brandished a machete and ran off when  ‘Antsman’ intervined. Antsman gave chase and during the chase pointed a firearm at the man who dropped the machete. The man then fled the scene.

On Wednesday, July 31, ‘Antsman turned himself in to the police with his lawyer. He was subsequently charged for the offences mentioned above.

A court date for him is being finalised.
