FARMER CHARGED FOLLOWING FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZURE IN BROWNS TOWN, ST. ANN

Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition charges have been laid against a 70-year-old farmer following the seizure of one 9mm Browning pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm cartridges during an operation at a premises in Browns Town, St. Ann on Sunday, August 04.

Charged is 70-year-old Robert Patterson, otherwise called ‘Manley’ or ‘Priest’, a farmer of Alva District, Alexandria in St. Ann.

Reports are that at about 2:30 a.m., lawmen were in the area conducting an operation when a search of a house was conducted. During the search, the firearm was discovered at the back of the premises.

Patterson was subsequently charged on Tuesday, August 07. Preparations for his court date are underway.
