Twenty-nine-year-old Romario Powell, a mason of Friendship Pen, Morant Bay in St. Thomas has been charged with Arson following an incident at Belvedere Drive, Red Hills, St. Andrew on Monday, September 16.
Reports from the Constant Spring Police are that about 3:57 p.m., Powell was staying with a friend when an argument ensued between them. Shortly after the friend left for work, it is alleged that Powell started a fire, which destroyed the house. Powell reportedly attempted to flee the
scene, but was caught by residents, who handed him over to the police.
Powell was subsequently charged on Monday, September 30, 2024.
Powell’s court date is yet to be finalised.
