Three Men Charged with Breaches Under the Firearm Act

Detectives attached to the St. Andrew North Policing Division have laid Possession Of Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession Of Ammunition charges against three men following the seizure of a handgun in Cassava Piece, St Andrew on Saturday, September 14.

Charged are:

  1. 19-year-old Jeremiah Campbell otherwise called ‘Trey’, a landscaper of Cadot Close, Kingston 8
  1. 24-year-old Jordan Vassell, a businessman of Morsham Avenue, Kingston 10 and
  2. 30-year-old Omar Douglas, otherwise called ‘Linky’ or ‘Link’ and a mechanic, of St John’s Lane, Kingston 8.

Reports are that at about 1:00 a.m., lawmen were in the area when a vehicle with three men aboard was stopped and searched. The men were also searched and a firearm—fitted with a magazine containing seven .40 rounds of ammunition was taken from one of them. All three were arrested and subsequently charged on Wednesday, September 18.

Their court dates are being finalised.
