Kingston Man Faces Several Charges

After more than a year on the run, a man who allegedly fired gunshots at the Police on Nelson Road, Kingston 13 on Monday, February 20, 2023 has been arrested and charged.

The man, 30-year-old Omar Logan, otherwise called ‘Jems’ of Pretoria Road, Kingston 13, has been charged with four counts of Shooting with Intent along with additional charges of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition.

Reports from the Hunts Bay Criminal Investigations Branch are that about 2:50 p.m., a team of police officers was travelling along Nelson Road when they observed Logan standing on the roadway. Logan, upon seeing the police, reportedly ran into a premises and allegedly returned with a firearm in his hand and opened gunfire at the police. The gunfire was returned and Logan fled.

After following several lines of enquiry, investigators took Logan into custody on Wednesday, July 24, where he was subsequently charged on Monday, September 16.
