MAN CHARGED WITH SHOP BREAKING AND LARCENY
Twenty-two-year-old Derrick Thomas otherwise called ‘Tip’ or ‘Blacks’ of Albian district, Manchester has been charged with Shop Breaking and Larceny following an incident along hotel street, Mandeville, Manchester between Sunday, October 06 and Monday, October 07.
Reports from the Mandeville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are that the owner securely locked up his business and left for the night. Upon his return the following morning, he discovered that a window was removed. On entering the establishment, he realized that the culprit(s) stole two quarts of Wray and Nephew white rum, five packs of assorted cigarettes and JMD $6,000.00.
An investigation was launched and on Wednesday, October 09, Thomas was apprehended and taken into custody where he confessed to the offences. He was subsequently charged and is scheduled to appear before the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday, October 16.
