Sleuths attached to the St. Ann’s Bay Policing Division have charged a farmer for the murder of a man in Cowley district in the parish on Thursday, October 24.
Charged with Murder is 46-year-old Sean Hanniford otherwise known as ‘Bungi’.
Reports from the lawmen are that at about 8:00 p.m., on the date above; 37-year-old Joseph Baker of Cowley district was walking along the roadway with his spouse. He was approached by Hanniford, who is believed to be the previous partner of the woman with whom Baker was walking. An argument developed between them and Hanniford used a knife to stab Baker. The police were alerted to the scene and Baker was transported to the hospital where he died while being treated.
Hanniford later turned up with stab wounds and was nabbed by the lawmen in the process. He was subsequently charged, after confessing to the crime.
His court date is being finalised.
