The Clarendon Police have charged three men with assault following an incident in Denbigh in the parish on Friday, January 31.
Charged are:
- Thirty-two-year-old Evans Williams, a driver of Bushy Park, Clarendon.
- Twenty-eight-year-old Neil Dawes, a driver of Castleton Drive, New Bowens in Clarendon.
- Twenty-five-year-old Kemar Watson, an undertaker of Hillview Crescent, New Bowens, Clarendon.
Reports from the May Pen Police are that at about 10:30 p.m., a man was at a bar when he got into an altercation with the accused men; the altercation became physical, and one of the accused men allegedly used a machete to slap the complainant several times on the leg, causing it to break. The injured man was assisted to the hospital, where he was admitted.
The complainant later made a report to the police, and an investigation was launched.
On Friday, February 14, an identification parade was conducted, and all three men were pointed out to the police. They were then jointly charged.
A court date is to be finalised for them.
