ST. ANDREW MEN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF IDENTITY INFORMATION

Three St. Andrew men were charged with Possession of Identity Information following an operation in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, on Friday, February 21.

Charged are Romique Lester and Dontae Lathian, both 18, along with 19-year-old Nashaud Cari. All three are from Christopher Drive in Stony Hill, St. Andrew.

Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that at about midday a team of lawmen was travelling along the roadway when they observed a breach of the Road Traffic Act. They signalled the driver of the motor vehicle to stop, and he complied.

Whilst addressing the breach, the behaviour of the occupants of the motor vehicle aroused the suspicion of the policemen. As a result, the driver and the passengers were escorted to the police station, where they were interviewed. An inspection of their devices led to the discovery of pictures of overseas residents, identification cards, and lead sheets. The men were subsequently charged.

The trio is scheduled to appear in the St. Catherine Parish court on Friday, February 28.
