WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO 2017 MURDER OF CANADIAN PENSIONER

Thirty-year-old Sadene Green of Edgewater Avenue, Portmore, St. Catherine, today pleaded guilty to the 2017 murder of 82-year-old Fitz Albert Barnes, a Canadian national and pensioner.

Reports are that the body of Mr. Barnes was found wrapped in a tarpaulin at his home on Young Street in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, on May 24, 2017.

Following intensive investigations by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigations Branch, Green was apprehended in 2018. A post-mortem revealed that Barnes died from several stab wounds and blunt-force trauma to the head.

Green pleaded guilty at the St. Catherine Circuit Court and will reappear for sentencing on April 4, 2025.
