ST. CATHERINE BARBER FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES
Sleuths attached to the St Catherine North Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) arrested and charged a man for Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, Stockpiling and Manufacture of Prohibited Weapon, following a joint police-military operation in Thompson Pen, in the parish, on Sunday, April 06.
Charged is 28-year-old Calvin Waldron, a barber of Old Road, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Reports from the Spanish Town CIB are that the lawmen acting on intelligence went in search of Waldron and later found him. He was apprehended and escorted to his house, where a search of the dwelling was conducted and yielded four homemade firearms, two 9mm cartridges and an empty magazine.
Waldron was cautioned, taken into custody and subsequently charged for the offences after a question-and-answer session.
His court date is being finalised.
