KINGSTON BUSINESSMAN CHARGED FOLLOWING BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT

Shooting with Intent, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony, Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Conspiracy charges have been laid against 28-year-old businessman Kaschife Sinclair, otherwise called ‘Rankin’ and ‘Deejay’ of Chisolm Avenue, Kingston 13, following an incident in his community on Monday, December 20, 2024.

Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that at about 2:30 p.m., an argument developed between Sinclair’s accomplice and a man following a motor vehicle collision along the roadway. His partner left and returned with Sinclair, who was armed with a firearm. Sinclair opened gunfire at the man and left the scene on foot, while his friend escaped in his motor vehicle. The victim managed to escape injury and reported the incident to the police.

Sinclair was taken into custody on Thursday, April 10, after an investigation. Charges were formally laid against him on Monday, April 14, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

A court date is being finalised for him.
