FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED IN KINGSTON WEST
Lawmen assigned to the Kingston Western Policing Division seized one Ruger P89 pistol with a magazine affixed containing fourteen 9mm rounds of ammunition on Spanish Town Road in the parish on Friday, April 25.
Reports from the Denham Town Police are that at about 10:40 a.m., while conducting a roadblock along Spanish Town, a public passenger vehicle was signalled to stop. The driver complied and brought the vehicle to a stop, after which a man ran from the vehicle.
The police went in pursuit of the man who ran onto a premise, after which he threw his bag onto a rooftop.
The man was apprehended, and the bag was recovered and searched in his presence, where the firearm was found inside the bag.
He was arrested and taken into custody; however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
