‘Blue’ Charged with Breaches of The Firearms Act

Twenty-two-year-old Oshane Scarlett, otherwise called ‘Blue’, a labourer of Canaan Delveland, Westmoreland has been charged with Assault at Common Law, and Using a Firearm to Commit a Schedule Offence following an incident in his community on Tuesday, June 10.

Reports from the Savanna-la-mar Police are that at about 9:00 a.m., the complainant was at a yard in the community, where his father was being beaten by Scarlett and three other men. It is reported that the complainant took out his cell phone and started recording the incident when Scarlett brandished a firearm from his waistband, pointed it at the complainant and ordered him to delete the footage. The man in fear of his life deleted the recording. A report was later made to the police.

On Tuesday June 17, Scarlett turned himself in to the police where he was subsequently charged.

His court date has not been finalised.
