HANOVER MAN SLAPPED WITH MULTIPLE CHARGES

Eighteen-year-old Nickolas Kerr, otherwise known as ‘Ajay’ of Prosper District, Lucea, Hanover, has been charged with Burglary,Possession of Prohibited Weapon ,Assault at Common Law and Housebreaking and Larceny in relation to two separate incidents in his community between Thursday, June 12, and Friday, July 4.

Reports from the Lucea Police are that at about 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, a woman saw Kerr running from her house after she realised that it had been broken into. Further checks revealed that an Apple iPad, an iPhone 12, an air fryer, two debit cards, and $400 USD were stolen. At about 11:50 p.m. the same night, Kerr approached the woman, pointed a firearm at her, and threatened her before escaping the area on foot.

On Friday, July 4, at about 11:20 a.m., the woman heard noise on her roof and then at her bedroom window and went to make checks, during which she saw Kerr searching her bedroom. Upon seeing the woman, he took up a purse containing $200 USD, $20 CAD, and $200,000 JMD. A tussle ensued, and Kerr managed to make his escape through a window.

A report was made to the police, and an investigation launched, during which Kerr was named as a person of interest; he later turned himself in to the police on Thursday, August 14. He was subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
