CONSTRUCTION WORKER CHARGED WITH ARSON ET AL
Forty-four-year-old Lewis Francis, a construction worker of Shanon Lloyd Crescent, Clarendon Heights, in the parish, has been charged with Arson and Unlawful Wounding following an incident that occurred at his house on Tuesday, August 19.
Reports from the May Pen Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are that at about 8:15p.m., Francis and a woman had a dispute during which he used a hammer to inflict injury to the left side of the woman’s head. He later threatened to burn the dwelling house down.
On Tuesday, August 19, the woman was awoken by smoke and discovered the entire front section of the house engulfed in flames. The police and fire department were contacted, and the fire was contained. The accused was subsequently taken into custody after he was pointed out by the woman on Thursday, August 21.
His court date is being finalised.
