ST. ELIZABETH RESIDENT CHARGED FOR GANJA IN ST. THOMAS
Sleuths attached to the St. Thomas Policing Division have charged a construction worker with Possession of Ganja, following an incident on Yallahs main road in the parish on Friday, August 22.
He is 33-year-old Tyrone Smith of Vinyard district, Black River, in St. Elizabeth.
Reports from the lawmen are that at about 10:30a.m. on the date mentioned above, Smith was seen walking along the Yallahs main road with a black parcel in his hand. Upon seeing the lawmen, he began to act in a manner that aroused their suspicion. The police signalled him to stop, and he obeyed. The lawmen approached Smith, and the ganja was detected.
He was later searched, and the parcel was found to contain over one pound of vegetable matter suspected to be ganja. He was transported to the station, where he was later charged.
A court date for him is being finalised.
