ST. ELIZABETH CONSTRUCTION WORKER FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES
The St Elizabeth Police have charged 42-year-old Tafari McDonald, a construction worker of Lover’s Lane, Black River, in the parish, with Unlawful Wounding and Malicious Destruction of Property following an incident on Tuesday, August 19.
Reports from the Black River Police are that on the aforementioned date at about 10:30p.m., the complainant went to purchase food at a restaurant when he was approached by McDonald, who asked him to purchase a cigarette. The man refused, and an argument developed between them. During the fracas, McDonald used a beer bottle to hit the complainant in his head, causing a wound that bled.
The right passenger window of the complainant’s Isuzu tipper truck was also damaged in the incident; it has an estimated value of $35,000 JMD.
A report was later made to the police, and an investigation ensued. McDonald was subsequently charged after he was pointed out by the complainant.
His court date is being finalised.
