SUSPECTED GOAT THIEF APPREHENDED IN ST ELIZABETH
Six goats were seized and one man taken into custody following the collaborative efforts of the Area 3 Agricultural Protection Branch (APB) and the St Elizabeth Operational Support Team (OST) during an operation along the Gutters main road, St Elizabeth, on Wednesday, September 10.
Reports from the APB are that at about 4:50 p.m., members of the team signalled the driver of a Nissan AD Waggon to stop. He complied, and four rams and two does, valued at $450,000 JMD were discovered in the trunk of the vehicle.
He was interviewed and then arrested after failing to adequately account for the goats. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
