ST. CATHERINE WELDER CHARGED WITH BREACHES UNDER THE FIREARMS ACT
A team of officers assigned to the St. Catherine South Police Division charged 27-year-old Ian Thomas, otherwise called ‘Welder’, of Big Lane, Church Pen, Old Harbour, St.Catherine with Assault at Common and Possession of Prohibited Weapon following an incident in Big Lane, Church Pen, Old Harbour in the parish on Saturday, October 4.
Reports from the Old Harbour Police are that at about 6:00 a.m., Thomas and a woman had an argument during which Thomas pulled a handgun and pointed it at her and threatened her. The matter was reported to the police, an investigation was launched, and Thomas was arrested. He was charged after he was interviewed.
His court date has not been finalised.
