MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING CAR THEFT IN KINGSTON
The Denham Town Police have charged 29-year-old Romario Edwards, otherwise called ‘Little Man’ or ‘Mario’, of Tavern Drive, Kingston 6, with several offences following an incident on Studley Park Road, in the parish, on Saturday, October 04.
The charges are Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Ammunition, Robbery with Aggravation, and Receiving Stolen Property.
Reports are that at about 4:40 a.m., a woman was in the process of parking her Toyota Probox motor car when a Toyota Axio motor car drove up beside her. Edwards alighted from the Toyota Axio motor car, armed with a firearm, robbed the woman of her motorcar and a Samsung Galaxy S9 cell phone. Edwards then escaped in the stolen vehicle, followed closely by the Toyota Probox with his accomplices.
The matter was reported to the police, and an investigation was launched. On Thursday, October 16, the Toyota Axio motorcar was intercepted along Slipe Road, in the parish. Edwards, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was arrested, taken into custody, and formally charged.
His court date is being finalised.
