ST. ANN MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
Fifty-three-year-old Gary Ferguson, otherwise called ‘Peter,’ of Great Pond, Ocho Rios, St. Ann, has been arrested and charged with the Murder of a British national in Retreat Heights in the parish on Thursday, June 26.
Dead is 61-year-old Simon Blanchard, retired engineer of Retreat Heights, Falmouth, Trelawny.
Reports from the Falmouth Police are that at about 5:10 a.m., Blanchard was at home when he heard a disturbance and went to investigate. Whilst he was at his gate, he was attacked by Ferguson and three other men, who were in the process of breaking into his neighbor’s house. Blanchard was stabbed several times. The police were summoned, and upon arrival Blanchard’s lifeless body was seen. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following intense investigation, Ferguson’s fingerprints were found on the scene and other circumstantial evidence. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
His court date is being finalised.
