KINGSTON MAN AND TWO TEENAGERS CHARGED FOR RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY

Detectives assigned to the Kingston Western Policing Division have charged a man and two teenagers with Receiving Stolen Property following an incident that occurred at a market in Kingston on Sunday, December 14.

Charged are Romaine Finnikin, otherwise called ‘Splert,’ a 28-year-old decorator of Levy Pathway, Tivoli Gardens, and two 16-year-old boys.

Reports from the Denham Town Police are that at about 2:00 a.m., a man securely locked his stall and went home. When he returned the following morning, he discovered that his stall had been broken into. Further investigation revealed that clothing items valued at approximately three hundred and sixty-five thousand Jamaican dollars ($365,000 JMD) had been stolen. A report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched.

An operation was later carried out at Finnikin’s and the two boys’ premises. The search resulted in the recovery of the stolen items.

Based on implicating evidence and the complainant’s statement, Finnikin and the boys were charged. They are currently awaiting a court date to answer to the charges that were laid against them.
