TEEN BOY FACE MURDER AND GUN-RELATED CHARGES

Murder, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorised Possession of Ammunition and Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony are charges that have been laid against a 17-year-old boy following an incident in Steer Town, St. Ann.

Dead is 49-year-old Marlon Guthrie otherwise called ‘Action, ‘also of a steer Town address.

Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 8:30 p.m., Guthrie and the teen were reportedly engaged in an altercation during which the boy left the location. It was alleged that the boy returned, pulled a firearm from his waistband and opened fire, hitting Guthrie in the upper body. The Police were alerted and upon their arrival, Guthrie was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced death.

Following thorough investigation carried out by lawmen, the boy was taken into custody. He was later charged following a question-and-answer session.

A court date for him is being arranged.
