CLARENDON MAN CHARGED WITH HOUSE BREAKING AND LARCENY

Twenty-seven-year-old Andre McKenzie of Fosmore Drive, May Pen, Clarendon, has been charged with House Breaking and Larceny following an incident at a premises on Perth Road in Mandeville, Manchester, on Saturday, February 07.

Reports from the Mandeville Police are that at about 11:00 a.m., the caretaker securely locked the premises and left. Later that day, an alarm was triggered, and security personnel responded. On arrival, it was discovered that a rear grille had been forced open and items stolen from the house. The police were notified, and an investigation launched. During checks of the premises, the stolen items were recovered along with a knapsack containing identification belonging to McKenzie.

He was subsequently located in a neighbouring community, arrested, and taken into custody. The recovered items were later positively identified by the complainant.

On Monday, February 09, McKenzie gave a caution statement in the presence of two Justices of the Peace, admitting to committing the offence. He was thereafter formally charged. His court date is being finalised.
