
Man Charged After Homeowner Finds Him Hiding Under Bed
Lawmen assigned to the St. Elizabeth Policing Division have charged a construction worker with Housebreaking and Larceny following an incident in Stanmore district, St. Elizabeth, on Wednesday, March 11.
Charged is 43-year-old Mario Gunter, otherwise called ‘Beedie,’ a construction worker of Burnt Ground, St. Elizabeth.
Reports from the police state that at about 6:30 a.m., a man securely locked his house and left for work. Upon his return, he discovered that his bedroom door was locked from the inside. He reportedly left the premises to seek assistance and later returned.
On his return, he used a hammer to force the door open. A subsequent search of the room revealed Gunter hiding under the bed.
The homeowner reportedly apprehended him and later handed him over to the police. On Friday, March 13, Gunter was charged following a question-and-answer session with investigators.
His court date is being arranged.
