BEARER FACING CHARGES AFTER FICTITIOUS MOTORCYCLE ROBBERY REPORT
The Kingston Eastern Police have charged 27-year-old Jovan Gayle, otherwise called ‘Javy,’ a bearer of North Avenue, Kingston 16 following a report he made claiming he was robbed on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Reports from the Elletson Road Police are that Gayle, who was employed by a company as a bearer, was entrusted with a Road Hawk motorcycle and a mobile phone to keep and care for. On Thursday, December 16, Gayle attended the police station and reported that he had been robbed of the motorcycle, cell phones, money, and other personal items by three men traveling on two separate motorcycles along Bull Bay main road, in St. Andrew.
Following an intense investigation into the matter, it was revealed that Gayle concocted the story that he gave to the police. He was found in possession of the said motorcycle and cellular phones, both personal and work phones, which he reported were robbed from him. The items were seized, and he was arrested. Gayle was later charged with Larceny of Motor Vehicle and Creating Public Mischief after a question-and-answer session.
He is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, February 03.
