BOAT CAPTAIN CHARGED FOR BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT
Detectives assigned to the Westmoreland Policing division have charged a boat captain with Possession of Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorised Possession of Ammunition following the seizure of a Kel-Tec pistol with a magazine containing five .380 rounds on the Ferris main road in the parish on Monday, August 11.
Charged is 37-year-old Javin Grant, otherwise called ‘Jah Vinci’, of Long Pond, Little London, Westmoreland.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that at about 7:35 p.m., Grant, who was driving a grey Honda motorcar, was signalled to stop by lawmen at a Vehicular Check Point (VCP), to which he complied. The vehicle was searched, and the firearm and ammunition were found inside.
