‘BUDHA’ CHARGED WITH MURDER AND BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT

Detectives assigned to the Manchester Police Division charged 32-year-old Sandre Swaby, otherwise called ‘Budha’, a car dealer of Bethel Isle, Newport district, in Manchester, with Murder, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony, and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition following an incident in Lancaster district, in the parish, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

Dead is 30-year-old Leondrew Clarke, otherwise called “Leo” or “John Wick” of Lanchester district, also in the parish.

Reports from the Mandeville Police are that at about 9:30 a.m., Clarke was sitting at his gate when he was pounced upon by men in a motor vehicle, where Swaby alighted and opened gunfire in his direction, hitting him in the upper body. The men made their escape in the area in the said motor vehicle. Clarke was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The police were alerted of the incident, and the scene was visited and processed.

Further investigation carried out by the lawmen led to the apprehension of Swaby on Wednesday, March 26. He was subsequently charged on Monday, March 31, for the aforementioned offences following an identification parade and a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
