Thursday, October 10 has been set as the date for a 64-year-old St. Mary farmer to answer to the charge of Wounding with Intent in court.
The farmer, who has been identified as Anthony Lewis, otherwise called ‘Bushman’, of Lewis Store, Highgate in St. Mary was arrested shortly after the Friday, September 27 incident.
According to investigators, about 6:30 a.m., Lewis and another man were reportedly at his home in Bromley District in the parish when an argument developed between them. It is alleged that Lewis then used a machete to chop the man all over his body.
The injured man was later taken to the hospital, where he was treated. Lewis was subsequently charged and is set to appear in the Port Maria Parish Court.
