Businessman Charged in Westmoreland

A 40-year-old businessman from Hanover has been charged with Assault at Common Law and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon following an incident in Negril, Westmoreland, earlier this year.

Charged is Jerome Clarke, otherwise called ‘Crazy’, a businessman of Point Village, Norman Manley Boulevard in Hanover.

According to reports received from the Negril Police, Clarke and the complainant were allegedly involved in an ongoing dispute involving a woman. On Sunday, May 26, Clarke reportedly approached the complainant as he was entering his motor vehicle on Norman Manley Boulevard in the parish, pulled a firearm, threatened to kill the complainant and then left.

On Monday, September 16, Clarke turned himself in to the Negril police in the presence of his attorney. He was subsequently charged. His court date is being finalized.
