CLARENDON TAXI OPERATOR CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING, ETAL
The swift action of members assigned to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) and the May Pen Police Station, led to the rescue of a 17-year-old girl who was kidnapped and assaulted in Effortville, Clarendon on Saturday, November 1. A taxi operator was arrested and charged in relation to the incident.
He has been identified as 48-year-old Marcus Blythe of Effortville, Clarendon.
Reports are that the teen was at Blythe’s home to collect several items, however, she was held against her will and assaulted. On Sunday, November 2, lawmen were alerted to the incident and carried out an operation at Blythe’s home where she was rescued and Blythe was taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with Kidnapping, Unlawful Detention (for sexual intercourse) and Indecent Assault (5 counts) after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his Attorney.
His court date is being finalised.
