
FARMER CHARGED WITH WOUNDING WITH INTENT
Thirty-year-old Jakobi Stewart, a farmer of Grant Town district, Haddo, Westmoreland, has been charged with Wounding with Intent following an incident in his community on Thursday, February 19.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police indicate that at about 8:15 a.m., Stewart and another man were at a shop when an argument developed between them. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation. During the fracas, Stewart allegedly pulled a ratchet knife from his waistband and inflicted multiple wounds to the man’s body.
The injured man was assisted to the hospital by the police, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
Stewart later surrendered to the police at the Whithorn Police Station. He was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.
A court date is currently being finalised.
