FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED IN KINGSTON WEST

A firearm and several rounds of ammunition were seized, and a man was taken into custody by the Kingston West Police along Beckford Street, Kingston 14, on Wednesday, April 30.

Reports from the Darling Street Police are that at about 8:45 p.m., a team on operation in the area observed a man speaking to a group of men along the roadway. Whilst talking with them, he pulled a firearm from a utility bag he had in his possession and then returned it to the bag before walking towards Pechon Street. He was intercepted by the police, and a search was conducted. During the search a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol affixed with a magazine containing thirteen 9mm rounds was found inside the bag.

The firearm and ammunition were seized, and the man was taken into custody; however, his identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
