‘FOURTEEN’ FACES ASSAULT CHARGES ET AL

Thirty-six-year-old Dwight Atkinson, otherwise known as ‘Fourteen’, a labourer of Barbary Hill, Lucea, Hanover, has been charged with Assault at Common Law and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon following an incident in his community on Saturday, August 23.

Reports from the Lucea Police are that at about 2:30p.m., Atkinson and a man got into a dispute in relation to a motorcycle he owns. It is alleged that the motorcycle belonging to Atkinson was given to the complainant on a loan. When the motorcycle was returned, it was inspected and found to have damage to the back rim.

During the fracas, Atkinson pulled a firearm and chased the complainant while uttering threatening words. The complainant escaped injury-free and made a report to the police. Atkinson was picked up moments later after being pointed out to the lawmen. He was subsequently charged after an interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
