‘GIRAFRE’ CHARGED WITH ROBBERY WITH AGGRAVATION
Forty-four-year-old Jason Rowe, otherwise called ‘Girafre’ a mason of Good Hope, Negril, Westmoreland, was charged with Robbery with Aggravation, Attempt Rape and Forcible Abduction following an incident at Westender Inn, Lighthouse Road, Negril, in the parish on Friday, April 18.
Reports from the Negril Police are that at about 7:15 a.m., a woman was walking along Lighthouse Road when Rowe approached her on a motorcycle and engaged her in a conversation, during which she continued walking and he drove off. It is alleged that Rowe later returned and put a knife to the woman’s neck whilst leading her into an open forestry lot. He proceeded to remove the woman’s clothes before making a sexual advance at her and demanding the properties of the woman. The woman, in fear for her life, gave her Samsung smartphone valued at JMD 25,000.00.
A report was made to the police, an investigation was launched into the matter, and Rowe was arrested. He was then placed on an identification parade where he was positively identified and later charged.
His court date is being finalised.
