HANOVER MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER

Thirty-two-year-old Barrington Vassell, rafter of  Lethe district, Hanover has been charged with the stabbing  Murder of  22-year-old Altwaine Cooke of  Copse in the parish on Sunday, July  21.

Reports from the Lucea Police are that at about 8:00 p.m., Cooke went to visit Vassell after which an argument developed; Vassell attacked Cooke  with a knife  and inflict several stab wounds to the left side of Cooke’s chest. On Sunday, July 28 at about 7:30 a.m., residents stumbled upon Cooke’s body in bushes in the community and summoned the police. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue pending further investigations.

Vassell was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence on August 2 after a question and answer interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalized.
