JCF Annual Carol Service
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) embraced the spirit of the festive season at its annual Carol Service on Thursday, December 12 at the Police Officers’ Club in St. Andrew.
The evening was blessed by Pastor Dr. Gary Buddoo-Fletcher, the JCF Chaplain, whose words from the gospel set a reflective tone. This was reinforced with a scripture reading from Luke 2:4-14, delivered by 2024 LASCO Chairman’s Awardee, Corporal Junior Thompson.
The melodic strains of Christmas carols sung by the JCF Choir and musical instruments from the JCF Band warmed the cool evening and created the perfect atmosphere in which attendees could fully lean into the event’s theme to ‘Celebrate His Birth’. The lively rendition of treasured Christmas songs such as ‘Joy to the World’ and the beautiful ‘Hallelujah Amen’ made the event one that inspired feelings of joy, love and hope, and stirred many tapping of toes and rocking of bodies.
Adding to the musical treat was JCDC Festival Song winner, Kemelia Issacs. Her angelic presentation further uplifted the spirits of attendees as they enjoyed a shared experience of the true meaning of Christmas.
For the JCF, the Annual Carol Service is more than a festive gathering. It is an opportunity for members of the Force to share their commitment to integrity, respect, and service to their communities. Amidst their demanding duties, it is a poignant reminder that the JCF is part of a larger family united by faith, love, and compassion.
As the evening concluded, the message was clear: The Christmas season is a time for reflection, unity, and celebrating the light of the Lord in our lives and land.
