‘JEVVY’ CHARGED WITH 2019 MURDER, IN FERRY ST. ANDREW

Detectives assigned to the St. Andrew Central Police Division charged a man with Murder, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition following the murder of 27-year-old Jodi-Ann Campbell in her community on Thursday, August 29, 2019.

Charged is 24-year-old Jeavann Forde, otherwise called ‘Jevvy’ or ‘Max’ of Ferry district in the parish.

Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that at about 5:00 p.m., Forde and Campbell were involved in an argument during which he left and later returned with a handgun and opened gunfire at the now deceased, hitting her multiple times in the upper body. He then fled the scene and had not been seen since. Campbell was assisted to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The incident was reported to the police, and an investigation was launched.

On Thursday, March 27, the police made a breakthrough in the case as Forde was apprehended at the airport after he was deported from the United States of America. He was taken into custody, where he was formally charged for the aforementioned offences after a question-and-answer interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
