
‘JOKER’ CHARGED FOLLOWING BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT
January 30, 2026 – Wounding with Intent, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorised Possession of Ammunition and Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony charges have been laid against a man in relation to a shooting incident along Yakka Avenue, Kingston 11, on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Charged is 38-year-old Andre Robinson, otherwise called ’Joker,’ of Roadside district, Linstead, St. Catherine.
Reports from the Olympic Gardens Police are that at about 6:45 p.m., a vehicle with Robinson aboard approached a man who was standing along the roadway. It was further reported that Robinson, who was seated in the back seat, brandished a firearm and opened fire, hitting the man before escaping the area. The man was assisted to the hospital, where he was treated.
A report was made to the police, and following intensive investigation, Robinson was nabbed during an operation carried out in the St. Catherine South Policing Division. He was thereafter placed on an identification parade, where he was positively identified and subsequently charged.
His court date is being finalised.
